About
My name is Molly Katz, and I am a 22-year-old guitarist and singer. I am a songwriter and I enjoy all things creative. I have always been artistic, whether it's drawing, painting, singing, or playing instruments, I strive to express myself through these outlets. Music has always been a huge part of my life and my dream is to make music for a living. I began playing guitar at the age of 16 and since then I have worked extremely hard to learn as much as I can about the instrument. At the age of twenty-two, I understand that many of my guitar peers have many years of experience on me, however it is my passion and love for guitar that have motivated me to do the best that I can and pursue a career in music. I am a senior commercial guitar major at Belmont University with an emphasis on songwriting.
I love all kinds of music, but my music usually leans towards the indie rock genre with some more folksy backwoods characteristics as well.
Songwriting is very important to me, and I love collaborating with others as well. I want to tell a story and transport the listener. Ultimately, music is a form of expression and I feel my best knowing my listeners can relate and interpret my songs for themselves. I have had my share of unique experiences in life, and I let my individuality feed my creativity. Most of my music is inspired by my emotions, experiences, and places or people that have influenced my life. Everyone has a story, this is mine. What's yours?
